YES!!!!! Eindelijk is het gelukt. Een concert van de New York Philharmonic bijwonen.... Dit beroemde orkest is een van de oudste instituten van New York. Opgericht in 1842. Hiermee is het ouder dan The Bronx Zoo (1899), The Metropolitan Opera (1883) en zelfs ouder dan Central Park (1859)! Het geeft in de zomermaanden altijd park-concerten in alle wijken van New York.Ik had al wel diverse concerten in parken van andere orkesten meegemaakt (zie div weblog entries) maar van dit fenomeen nog nie...

Staten Island wasn't our first choose for mooring up. To get anywhere most of us wanted to go, we had to take the train to the ferry to the subway - a 45 minute ordeal. After spending as much time at sea as we had, the scenic element of riding the ferry into Manhattan lacked something.
