Staročeský Restaurant Prague Reviews
Czech Food at the Hotel Europa's Cellar Sep 27, 2011
A chalkboard announcing a daily dinner combination caught my attention along Wenceslas Square. Consulting the multilingual menu outside Starocesky Restaurant, the dinner including soup, a main course, and dessert for 318 CZK or 13 Euro sounded good! We went in and found ourselves in the basement restaurant of the Hotel Europa. The restaurant, reminiscent of a German Kellar, was decorated in vintage Art Nouveau style like the hotel. (I think it was the original decoration, which added to the atmosphere!)
The Czech dinner did not disappoint. I started with Goulash Soup, followed by a main course of Roasted Chicken, grilled potatoes, and side salad. Dessert was Jablecny zavin, Czech-style Strudel. Very good! We also included a glass of the house red wine.
The service was attentive. Not too many others guests were there, but we were dining early.
Credit cards accepted. Very reasonably priced and good.
