Anyhoo, hunger and thirst soon proliferated into our ideal world, and looking at the menu in the hotel I soon realised we would need to sort something out as everything was astronomically expensive ( well , actuall it was not so bad, for a 5 star hotel at least, but we were not used too it of course) and H was getting a bit fed up with… “Joan Wilder..? THE Joan Wilder..?” Adventures in Cartagena and homeward bound! |

headed into London . Our final hotel is the same on the trip as it was on our first, the Hilton London Metropole. It is clean, great staff, nice rooms, lobby area, restaurants, shops, etc. This is truly a five star hotel .

We were shocked
when we checked out the “hotel” rooms since the beds were all shabby and we
thought they would break through when we sat on ‘em. In addition, we had a
“lovely” bathroom - a toilet and shower in one, cuz when you wanted to pee you
were automatically in the shower with one foot! lol
Our mood got worse when we looked out the window… what a school trip! |

The location is wonderful, the hotel is just ok. At the time, (back in 2002) we got it for $70 a night on Priceline. It counts as a 4 star, but as anyone who has stayed in any UK hotel knows, their star system is quite different, and I'd call… Arrived in London |
