Not primarily known as a travel destination the town of Stanley is a typical untouched (no traffic lights) American small town. Smack dab in the middle of the Shenandoah Valley the town is surrounded by picturesque mountains and bordered by the Shenandoah River.
Visitors to Stanley can expect to be greeted with southern hospitality. There are some lovely Inns and Bed and Breakfasts dotting the countryside and within the town. Stanley is a great place for scenic horseback riding excursions and it’s near major attractions in the next town of Luray as well as the Shenandoah National Park.

Every chance we get we expose our kids to some small town Americana. In these parts you can’t get much smaller than the town of Stanley, VA. It’s next door to Luray and is much quieter.
