More than home away from home Jan 31, 2016
N49°19'24" W124°53'48" Joop and Margriet Pastoors made Stamp Fall B&B there retirement project, an accumulation of their view on quality of life, their personal way of homemaking and good business sense.

An on-line booking site salesperson offered Joop and Margriet online reservation for a fee of 15% per booking. Joop and Margriet did not find a 15% cost increase within their present price structure possible. The salesperson responded with "just increase the customer price with 15%". Joop and Margriet determined that this would make their rooms needless expensive and uncompetitive. For them, a good website with search engine optimisation, room availability calendar and a phone number keeps sales high and costs low. We paid CAN$80 including tax in August 2015 per night.

Joop and Margriet converted a former family home with four sleeping rooms on the second floor in a B&B, 10-minute drive from Port Alberni. The rooms do not have an en-suite bathroom, but Joop and Margriet supplied bathrobes for the short walk to the large bathroom with toilet, shower and bath. Downstairs next to the kitchen is another shower for guests. Our room number 3 for three nights had an excellent double bed, which slept excellent. The nights are cool so no air conditioner is necessary, but there is a fan in the room anyway. Wi-Fi reception is excellent. Guests can use their own living room downstairs.

Breakfast is absolute delicious. It is out of this world with four different kind of lovely homemade salmon salad, carefully labelled and introduced by Joop, luscious fruits, delightful bread, glorious eggs, great coffee and nice sausages and cheese. Too much to eat. Really unique and infinite impressive.

We really appreciated their hospitality and personal warmth in August 2015. They invited us into their home and life in Canada, without being intrusive into our lives. They took care for simply things like doing the laundry and helping us with driving directions. They answered every question. We felt very at ease staying with them, sitting at night at the kitchen table talking with each other. It left an indelible impression on us. Absolutely recommended.
