Stacherias Reviews
Review Nov 09, 2008
The Stacherias has something of a Chameleon.
In the afternoons, especially on Sunday: it is a quiet and preppy coffehouse - only you, the staff and some preppy, elderly ladies. In the evenings: A stylish, cool and lively cocktail bar. However, it doesn't matter when you get there, you always feel welcome and comfortable. The staff is extremely friendly and the fact that they are on very familiar terms with each other make you even feel better there and enables you to get away from all the hustle-bustle outside and the everyday-stress. Another thing to mention is the large range of different magazines - one can spend half a day sipping tea and browsing the Stern, Focus or some newspapers. The food and the cocktails are - compared to the average in central Munich - at a reasonable price. As I didn't try anything of it, I can't tell about the quality, but the cake looked devilishly good! :-) On the other side, the tea and coffee stuff is pretty expensive, which I suppose results from the fact that it all is from Eilles, a quite exclusive manufacturer. But if you don't mind to pay € 3,50 for a simple Cappucino or want only have a snack anyway, Stacherias is definitely a good choice. Part of the Trip to the salsa congress in Munich travel blog |
