People Watching and Fishing Apr 01, 2011
A stroll through the Village, down Mallery St., window shopping, snacking or dining eventually leads to the Pier. The Pier is situated at the end of Mallery St. It's a great place to watch the sun rise or set, set your net or cast your line, and people watch. Generally, it's a good place to watch as life goes by.

From the Pier one can watch the ever changing sea, large ocean liners and transport ships bringing in their cargo, small and large fishing boats and shrimping trawlers, and an array of avian marine life. Jekyll Island is across the channel and Lanier Bridge is also visible.

In addition to the Village, Neptune Park (also free) is situated next to the pier and is ideal for parents and young children. The island's Lighthouse Museum and library are also near.
