Historical and cultural festival. You cant miss it if you are in Trondheim during 26 July - 5 August.
Historical Arena The modern tradition of the St. Olav Festival started back in 1962. There is a rich and dense programme at the Nidaros Cathedral during the festival, and pilgrims from all over the world come to visit one of the few pilgrimage sites of Northern Europe. St. Olav Festival can offer a different and exciting historical Fair in the Archbishop’s Courtyard. There you will see stalls selling handicrafts and other goods, plays, entertainment and a diversity of activities that originally took place around the Nidaros Cathedral in the medieval era around the celebration of Olsok, the fest of St. Olav. I experienced Hayden Powell`s New Orleans Band at St. Olavs Festival last year, and they really highend the temperature by their audience. I listened to them last year and I really liked the band , I had to listen to them…Olavs Festival last year, and they really highend the temperature by their audience.
