St Moritz Queenstown Reviews
Affordable luxury by the river Aug 14, 2010
We stayed at the St Moritz in Queenstown between the 25th of July to the 1st of August. When I say we I mean Me, Girlfriend and daughter of three.
Found this hotel to be excellent for service, door men at your service 24/7 and I mean 24/7 with a smile on there face all the time. The warm feeling you need at a hotel. Very quick valet parking and service, they took my boots and board to the drying room as well.
Room service was very prompt, food was up to our room within 15 min. Most of the time 5 to 10min. Restaurant is very amazing to say the least, seemed like 5 star service. And on Tuesdays and Fridays they have kids minding service in the Hotel where they feed the little ones play them movies and game to give the parents time out with unspoilt dinner.
Buffet breakfast is in the midrange, but very worth every dollars spent with a choice of 3 choices ranging from Continental to full buffet. We got the full buffet a couple of mornings and when they say full buffet they mean full buffet from toast to eggs to yogurt or even fresh yogurt. Also variety of different pasties on offer too.
House keeping was exceptional as well, very thorough.
We stayed in a one bedroom apartment which had a plasma in the lounge room with fold out bed, very comfortable for fold out bed. Little kitchen which had microwave, oven, cook top, washer dryer and cutlery. Very hand indeed.
Master bed room was a king size bed which was to die for with a plasma on the wall too. Very spacious cupboards too.
The bathroom wasn't as good as would of expected but bathe was deep. Shower was a corner curtain drawn the thing I didn't like was that when I had a shower the whole bathroom got wet as the floor was one floor with the bathroom with no step down. And there wasn't enough space for laundrettes on bathroom shelf. Not much bad too say but there was something.
Will definitely stay hear again next winter.
There is a choice of lake view rooms or non lake view rooms. we had the non, still amazing but no views. We Kept the curtains drawn all the time.
