Hippos and Crocs

Up early today to go for a walk in the local area.  We explored the estuary and walked down to the beach, and had a drink whilst watching the hippos lounge about in the water.  We got rather nervous at one point, because there were some small children fishing right at the water's edge, a tasty bite-sized meal for one of the 2,500 crocs that live in the waters here.  We moved on before we witnessed a scene not unlike one of David Attenborough's documentaries. We'd managed to check into our B&B in St Lucia just in time to make it onto the next boat trip. We were advised to go straight away as a storm was forecast to blow through the following day. The boat trip took us around a shallow salt water lake which is populated by thousands of hippos and crocs - sorry no swimming!!! Crocs were not much in evidence due to the overcast skies but we did get up close to a couple of hippo pods. The rain started towards the end of the trip, so...
