St. Leu Overview

Located on the western coast of Reunion, St. Leu is one of the select few places where you can actually swim in the ocean - offering a splendidly shady beach with a sheltered spot from the vicious currents. But if swimming isn't your deal, fear not. There are serious drop-offs outside of the sheltered pool which make this a high traffic venue for scuba divers (surfing is great here as well!).

Para-gliding is also huge here...strong wind currents and beautiful shores invite tons of adventureres and even if you don't partake, it is enjoyable to watch everyone drift down upon the lovely sand beaches.

The town itself is quite French provincial, with no stellar attractions, excepting for Kelonia - a quality turtle farm (actually 2km north of town) featuring all varieties native to Reunion.
