Popular and Unique Melbourne Bar Mar 12, 2008
St Jerome's is a popular Melbourne bar for a good reason!
It is hidden in an alleyway and has a very grungy atmosphere. The crowd (mostly 25 yrs +) is totally unpretentious and friendly. The place is small so even if you are the only ones there it will still feel busy! The place has a really unique layout, the front bar area is tiny with seating for only a few. Out the back there is an undercover area with a balcony furnished with old couches, wooden benches and milk crates. A DJ plays under a tarp in one corner. Next door is also part of the bar and it is basically a stairwell! At the top there is a small room with a dance floor. Be careful walking up and down the stairs at night as they are not very well lit and the stairs are uneven. On a Friday night this place is packed out and it can get a bit cramped but the atmosphere is fantastic!! They don’t have any beers on tap unfortunately but they do have a small selection of decent stubbies. It is hard to describe why this bar is so popular; you really just have to go check it out yourself!
Much fun with friends to be had …

I then fell off the no drinking bandwagon when we went out to Madame Brussels and St. Jeromes for a few bevies (oopps).
Saturday and Sunday were meant to be gorgeous sunny days so Louise and I planned a little escape. We headed out on another road trip. I have actually been putting the kms on the car - 4000 in the last… On the road again! |
