trendy hostel near the water Aug 23, 2011
This hostel was recommended mainly for its prices, atmosphere and location. And I must say the atmosphere is absolutely relaxed. It's a pretty modern and trendy building near a little harbor. It has a terrace at the water, a lounge to chill, having breakfast or dance on the DJ's tunes. There are lockers in the basement as well in the rooms. Free wi-fi cafe, free breakfast and for 5 Euro extra you can have additional food. The 6-bed mixed room we've booked was clean, with a big bathroom and a huge balcony with an overview. We expected 2 or 3 bunk beds but the room had 6 separate beds. Despite the fact that they asked you for bringing your own towels, everyone had a towel laying on his bed. And it was replaced every day. It's a pretty popular and safe hostel. The (international) staff is friendly with the same relaxed attitude as the overall atmosphere. Good place to stay if you want to share a room, chill at the water or meet travel buddies.

St Christopher's Paris May 21, 2011
St Christopher's Paris is a great choice for a hostel to stay at in Paris. It is clean and located right on the waters edge. It's close to two Metro stops which can take you anywhere you want to go in Paris. The staff is friendly and is full of recommendations for free places to go and sights to see. There is a restaurant and bar called Belushi's on the first floor. The food is good and reasonably priced. There is a party at the bar every night. There is a cafe with free Wi-Fi and computers to rent. There is no curfew and you can sleep in pretty late. My only complaint is that the shower water was cold and you have to hold the button down in order to keep the water flowing out.

St Christopher's Paris is a great choice for people of all ages and experience with hostels to stay at.

not close to city center but clean and friendly Sep 10, 2011
I really liked this hostel.

It wasn't close to the center of Paris but once you get used to the metro its not too much of a problem.

So Ill get the negatives out the way first!

Firstly no laundry room - but there's a laundrette down the street (Rue De Crimee i think is the name of the street but ask reception).

No kitchen. Although the bar food was nice - but not very french !! I guess I paid between 5-10 euros for dinner. Breakfast is free ( baguettes, cereal and juice, tea and coffee) unless you go for the cooked breakfast of 4 euros and it was nice to sit out on the veranda by the canal. There's no proper common room - you have the bar or the internet cafe - which has plenty of tables but could use some sofas or comfy chairs.

It was abit noisy in the street outside but I guess that's not the hostels fault. you have to pay a hefty 10euros for the lockers downstairs which i thought was cheeky as they don't let you check in until late afternoon so I don't think that's fair if you want to go exploring and I don't know of any other hostel that charges for storage.

I thought the area at night was abit sketchy so be careful walking around on your own - but i guess that's not the hostels fault and it was nice that there was a bouncer on the door although he seemed to spend a fair bit of time in the bar chatting and not much time on the door !!

The rooms are really nice - curtains on the beds for privacy and a table, chairs, full length mirror and sink where a nice touch.

I found it friendly in the bar and met a lot of people when I went down for dinner.

there's big lockers that slide out from under the beds but the the normal size padlocks don't fit so you have to buy a big massive 5euro one from reception - although most people left theirs unlocked and never had a problem.

Staff were nice but didn't go out of their way to please you -just did their job and kept it simple.

I had fun and would go back there so I would recommend it. Dive in, have fun, and be safe !!!!

New Hostel in Paris at two stops on the Metro from Montmartre and Gare du Nord. At around 45 mn of International Airport. Close to the canal where you can play typical "petanque" (bowl game) and drink beers or wine during spring and summer.

Close to the "buttes chaumont" and "la vilette" park.

On sundays you have a very cheap market.

This place is inside Paris so you're not very far from all touristic places.

Live music, a great Belushi's Bar, free internet access.
