Good hostel in Bath, St Christopher's Inns Aug 09, 2007
I went to the St Christopher's Inns hostel in august 2007. I stayed there for 2 days because I was visiting Bath and the surroundings. After looking for hostels in Bath, I found this one that it was much better that I expected. Hostels in England aren't very comfortable and clean, and maybe the worst are the beds, maybe you'll prefer to sleep on the floor than to sleep in some beds you can find in England.
But St Christopher's Inns was really comfortable. Beds were new, sheets were really clean, and I have a good time there. I was in the girls dorm, it was very clean and quite, despite of the bar downstairs that it's part of the hostel. The location of the hostel was excellent, very near from the Cathedral and the Roman Baths, and not too far from the Royal Crescent. There is a bar at the ground floor, it was very lively in the afternoon. The staff of the hostel was very nice, and they can book you one day trip to Stonehenge, Castle Comb and Lacock, in the Cotswolds. I took one day trip and the driver & guide he was so humorous! Maybe the only inconvenience of the St Christopher's Inns is that there's no lift to carry you and your luggage, so maybe you'll have to take your stuffs up stairs 1 or 2 floors, but, If you feel you can, you should go there! This was one of the best hostels we stayed at on our trip. We had a lot of fun here and met some great people. The restaurant/bar was great, you get a discount on food if you're staying there. The staff are awesome and really helpful. I've got no complaints about the beds, they were comfortable. Maybe a little cramped and the locks on the lockers didn't work, but it wasn't that big a deal. The laundry was cheap and they basically do it for you. The location was perfect, close to everything and right next to a supermarket. The bathrooms were really clean as well, the showers were a bit annoying just because you had to push a button to get water like every 5 seconds. But all in all a great hostel.

I really liked this hostel! As soon as we got there the staff was really friendly and helped us out with storing our luggage and helping us do our laundry. As well the staff was very accomodating with booking us a 2nd night and setting us up on a tour for Stonehenge. Not to mention all the male staff were really hot! A total bonus for me and my friend haha. Downstairs there is a bar/restaurant with cheap happy hour drinks and 20% off for staying at the hostel. Dorms are all very clean with really comfy beds and lockers underneath (although some were broken and you do need your own lock). Bathrooms and showers were pretty clean but kind of annoying having to press the button for water every 5 seconds, but the water was hot and it was clean which is what we look for when it comes to showers. Upstairs there is an awesome "Chill out" room with a tv, lots of movies, and internet. Fairly close to the trainstation, right across from a super store, and a quick walk to Bath Abbey and the Roman Baths. Had a great time, made friends with some of the staff and they showed us around to some of the bars and clubs which was lots of fun! Oh also there are key cards to all the rooms so other people can't get in and they didn't charge me when we lost our key cards...twice.
