St Bernards Hotel Gold Coast Reviews
Charming, with a great view and an awesome guardian - St. Bernards Hotel & Restaurant Jul 18, 2010
If you go to Mt. Tamborine, instead of staying at one of the cafeterias nearby I'd suggest you to go a bit further away and look for this charming Bavarian type tavern.
This place is a hotel, but has a restaurant where everybody is welcome. Its name comes from the guardian of the place, a huge but sweet St. Bernard who is too lazy to bark and just lays down on the floor, haha.
They have some tables outdoors, so you can enjoy the amazing landscapes, but also some indoors where the decor reminds you to a cottage in the Alps, so charming. The waitresses are wearing Bavarian dresses and all the decorations has the same theme.
This place is perfect to have lunch, dinner or just a cup of coffee enjoying the scenery. We came here for lunch and tasted delicious ciabatta bread as appetizer. Later John got lamb and I got stuffed mushrooms.
You have to go to the front and place your order. Then you will get a number for your table and a waitress may bring your dishes. They offer different kind of drinks including wine. We tasted a delicious NZ white one.
The staff was very friendly and helpful and the whole atmosphere was charming. Definitely, I recommend this place if you are in the area and look for a cozy one :)
