Mass is a must even on vaca Oct 10, 2009
If you are traveling to DC and Sunday pops up, have no fear. St Sugustine is a Catholic church near the U street corridor in NW, DC. It's the oldest black Catholic church in DC.

The Saturday 430 mass is nice and quiet. On Sunday, there are 3 options. The 8am mass is usually quiet and quaint, the 10am mass is popular and is my favorite. The 1230 mass is more loud, more energetic, and has a lot of singing. Which do you prefer? Parking is tight, so get there 10-15 minutes before mass starts. It's pretty casual, but we have our folks who wear a loud hat here and there. It's a great atmosphere and we welcome all visitors of the Catholic faith.
