St Annes lagoon and Bird Sanctuary. Apr 27, 2008
St Annes Lagoon is actually a small lake on private land, that has been made open to the public for picnics and bird watching. Over the years I have driven past this small lake many times, but this time we stopped to wander around and observe the main wild fowl swimming on the water and and also all the small birds darting among the flax bushes and trees and Toi Toi bushes. I was fascinated by the brightly colourful but deadly toadstools growing in the gress.

As it is now autumn there were some coloured leaves on the trees to make a pretty veiw.

As this St Annes Lagoon is only 100 yards off the main Highway it is a popular place to stop and stretch your legs.
