Royal Bath of Angkor Apr 23, 2015
We stopped by Srah Srang before our way home. Srah Srang is a baray (artificial reservoir) located east of Banteay Kdei. It was dug in the 10th century for the purposes of ritual washing and subsequently modified in the 12th century by King Jayavarman VII by adding a multi-tier landing stage. The landing stage adorned with lions and nagas provides an alternative sunset viewing spot as compared to the over-touristic and over-crowded Phnom Bakheng or the famous Angkor Wat.
