Squamish Vacation Guide
Squamish, which is translated into “Mother of the Wind” is quite a large town in the middle of Vancouver, British Columbia and Whistler, British Columbia. It is the midway point on Highway 99, which is the Sea to Sky Highway and is the point in which you start your decent into the mountains.
The scenic drive is quite lovely, whether it be a sunny, snowy or rainy day. The beautiful view you encounter allows for many photographic moments. The drive up and down Highway 99 through Squamish will surely take your breath away.
Popular tourist attractions for the adventurous is Stawamus Chief, a granite massif favored by climbers. Mountain bikers also like Squamish for it's hundreds of trails as well as the Test of Metal cross country bike ride. Make sure to sign up early.
Shannon Falls is also located within Squamish but the turn off is small and parking is very limited. Don't give up hope though, it is a breathtaking sight!

The drive from Vancouver to Squamish is quite a rush, especially in the early morning. I had made a CD mix for Katherine of electronic music, and had actually designed it to be listened to while driving in the morning. Today seemed as appropriate as any day, with the mist covering up mo…
