Spoleto Travel and Tourism Guide

My second time in Rome. Still loved it. Lucky enough to be part of the Papal audience. Took the Eurostar to Florence for 1 day. Took a train to Spoleto on my last free day. Had the best meal of the week in that medieval town.

After seeing Southern Marche, we returned to the region again to explore the northern part. We were not disappointed. We also visited the Republic of San Marino, an independent state inside Italy. It's a beautiful state worth driving up to.

Spoleto had a much grittier and lived-in feeling than Assisi and was definately less tourist-y. Apparently at a cafe we met the man with the best English in the town (according to the guy at the bar). The city had a pretty fantastic piazza in front of the Duomo. While you're walking down the street, you come across a large opening between buildings--the long stairs (with risers so small, it was almost a ramp) down to the piazza.
