Spoleto Festival Travel Reviews

2 1/2 weeks of Art Galore Apr 02, 2008
This is a great event for art lovers. Started in 1977, the Spoleto Festival USA is a yearly ritual lasting 17 days from late May to early June.

Performers and tourists worldwide gather in downtown Charleston to enjoy a wide range of artistic styles such as ballet, opera, jazz, and theater to name a few. Some events are free while others are charged from reasonable to the upper hundreds.

The festival ends with a ticketed event at Middleton Place. A concert is held under the stars by the Festival Orchestra concluded with fireworks over the Ashley River.
