Spokane Falls Jun 22, 2010
We have been in Spokane before in 2007 and that time we visited Spokane Falls, which is located right downtown and is a sight to see in the center of town. Washington Water & Power sits right on the side of this river. But the last time we were there was near the end of July and the water level in the river was quite low. This time we were there much earlier in the year and with all the snow and rain the river was quite high. This isn’t a tall waterfall but rather a wide one with a large splash basin made of solid rocks which tends to make the splashing more frothy, foamy and misty. The drop is only about three stories but it is quite wide at the very straight edge. There is even a ride that takes riders out across the river for those who wish to hang out over the water for a few minutes. Not one of the normal waterfalls of the northwest, but definitely one worth seeing. We were glad we went by a second time this year.
