Spitfire Coffee New Orleans Reviews
Pricey but Delcious Coffee Sep 30, 2016
After a most unpleasant experience trying the horrendous chickory coffee that's so popular in the area, I was seeking out some good espresso in New Orleans to help erase that taste from my mind forever. I didn't want to go to Starbucks (gross), I wanted some legit coffee. Thank goodness I found Spitfire! This place is the hipster coffee snob's dream.
I'm very particular when it comes to my espresso. I can identify high quality beans and talented baristas. I feel like there's this unspoken mutual respect that true coffee lovers have, especially in a local joint like this. I didn't need the bearded employee behind the counter to tell me that a macchiato wasn't loaded with frou-frou junk and topped with whipped cream, he just knew that I knew what it was. Love that.
The shop features different roasts from small coffee suppliers across the country (if they have Panther Coffee from Miami on offer the day you visit, get it, it's amazing). It's not cheap (my espresso set me back $3 plus tip, yikes) and the menu is quite limited, but the end product is worth it. This is some amazing coffee and the perfect little local coffee shop you're searching for. Bookmark this place and go now, you won't be sorry.
