If you just look up on some of facade in older parts of Madrid you'll see beautiful tiled street signs. This little artistic works makes Madrid so special and i enjoyed walking the city and wait for the next corner to see the new one :o)

Don't be sucked into a travel/Rail card if you do go to Spain... Take the buses! The best thing to do though is plan well in advance! Book flights with ryanair or aerlingus.. there may be others too, which will work well and also will be much much cheaper than buses! Imperative to book early though …
