Sozopol is a ancient town and seaside resort located on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. The permanent local population close to 5000 people, however the number of tourists which visit the city during the summer season is a lot higher.

The closest city is Burgas/Bourgas linked with frequent bus transport.

Sozopol...lovely! It was our first few days of luxury! We met up with my family (mum, stepdad and two little brothers) and they kindly paid for us to stay for three nights in their 4-star hotel! Which, as I'm sure you can imagine, after almost two months of completely bumming it, was like heaven. TV, nice beds, air con, swimming pool, all you can eat breakfast, sauna. When you see this city from afar, you wonder, are there any streets at all? Its sittuated on a little peninsula sticking out into the ocean and the entire little mound is all roofs. There are no open spaces. Just roofs and buildings. As you enter the town you see everything is at a slope, and all is nicely preserved.
