Wise owls head here for Polish food wrapped up Aug 04, 2017
'Sowa' means owl in Polish. This modern, spacious, comfortable, elegant Polish restaurant in busy Ealing has quite a few images of owls decorating it.

The restaurant is attached to a café, where a truly mouth-watering selection of cakes may be bought.

We opted for the set lunch, which includes a soup and a main course, along with a glass of lemonade.

The mushroom soup was perfect. The pierogis, which are hand-made to order in a glass booth easily visible from the restaurant, were served in generous portions. We tried the meat-filled ones and also those filled with potato and cheese. They were all perfectly tasty, but I always find that the pasta surrounding pierogi is too thick. I prefer the thinner wrapping used to enclose the fillings of Chinese dumplings and some Italian filled-pasta.

Service was efficient and friendly. I hope to return to Sowa to try items on its à-la-carte menu.

The restaurant and its toilets are well-maintained and spotlessly clean.
