we were shopping around since it was the last day in siem reap and found this shop selling an iron Buddha's palm paint coated to look aged. these palms are everywhere and we had gotten one each for $9 the previous night so we weren't really thinking of buying another one, but were just looking around. the shopkeeper saw us pointing at it and asked us to quote a good price, saying he will see what he can do. after thinking through, i quoted a price of $5, which he was abit reluctant. then, he said if i took 2, he would give it to me for $8. wow! we chatted for a while and he told me he had just arrived from another province, and that he had just opened his shop here a few months ago. he even cleaned the iron palms thoroughly and wrapped them up safely. talk about good service at no cost!

most items sold in the markets are quoted 3-4 times above their original prices to tourists so that he ycan be bargained, and i wouldn't be surprised if the plams could be sold for lesser than $4 each!

Having US dollar notes saves you from the hassle of carrying thousands worth of Cambodian… Cambodia experience of a lifetime

Afterwards, we did some last minute souvenir shopping and then returned to Red Piano for drinks and dinner.  A had the steak sandwich (two little baquettes filled with steak and caramelized onions - tasty).  I had the spaghetti carbonara - most people do this incorrectly, with some sort of cream sauce… Best Massage of My Life, Yummy Pastries and Aspara Dancing.

The second stop was a tad more interesting, a floating fish farm, souvenir shop and crocodile farm. Since neither our boatman nor his ten year old first mate spoke English, I can’t tell you what the crocodiles were there for. There were however two more kids paddling around in tubs demanding money, this time two particularly… It's a Holiday in Cambodia!

We had a boat journey on the lake, visiting a floating souvenir shop and an alligator “farm”.   Alligators are not natural in this area; the farms are there for us tourists.   Mothers with children from infants to 5-6 years old were meeting us in boats wanting to earn some money.   Selling small… Seam Reap, Cambodia
