Planning …

The menu is mostly catered to our omnivore neighbors, but they do have some very yummy veggie friendly options.. Sadly the Miso soup is not vegan, but they do have a simple sa…

Tonight we had a light dinner at one of the local Hotel restaurants. We had seen a sign about a buffet at the Hotel just up the street from our lodgings and decided to check it out. As soon as I walked in the door I knew we were going to eat there, because just to my right was the ice c…

In addition to cute little shops and yummy dining, the quaint downtown district of Sioux Falls also serves as an outdoor art museum. There is a piece of outdoor sculpture for everyone from images of mythology, figurative, fantasy and wildlife. Its hard to pick a favorite and everytime I walk throug…

Got up in the morning exhausted. Dreamed my bike had been dismantled, leaving only a frame with wheels left and a passerby thinking I was an idiot when I screamed that there was nothing left. Was glad to get out of Rockford, IL. My trip was uneventful until I began to cross the Mi…

And so we came into South Dakota, tired of driving, wanting to stop sooooooon. But our target destination was Badlands National Park, and we still had a ways to go. After a grueling 275 more miles, we finally were at the park entrance. But this was unlike any national park I had e…

During our eight days we visited Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, and South Dakota. We saw Yellowstone National Park, Devil's Tower, Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Custer State Park, The Badlands.
We saw Elk, Wolves, Moose, Coyotes, Bigh Horn Sheep, Prong Horn Sheep, Golden Eagles, Bald Eagles, Mule Deer, Bison, Wild Turkey, Geese, Chipmunks and Trumpeter Swans.
A vacation never forget and I'll have to return in the summer when everything is green.
