Well today one of the things on my to do list is to head into the city and collect a couple of things from the Fire Station. A friend from work (Stephanie) decided that she should come with me. I said that I was only going to the front desk and as the rest of the station is authorised access only, we might not see anything. Stephanie goes weak at the knees when it comes to firemen and brought her camera 'just in case'.
Standing at the front desk, Stephanie's neck was breaking trying to see i...

After two nights of raves, I spent a lot of time resting on Sunday. I badly needed that, but the result of all the sleeping during the day is that I lay awake in night, unable to sleep. And when I finally fell asleep, Monday morning got around the corner really really early. I had to get up though as I booked a Wildlife Tour, who would pick me up from my hostel at 7:20. Ouch. Originally I booked a three day tour, but since I was the only one, they transferred me to a 2-day tour instead. ...

Hi everyone, sorry its been a while but has been very difficult updating
my blog whilst we are on the move in our Camper Van. We left Sydney 2
weeks Today (Wednesday) and headed for Melboune. The Grand Prix wasn't
till the Sunday so we took a little detour and visited Canberra. Other
Backpackers had told us there wasn't much going on there but we wanted
to see for ourselves and to say we have been there. I wish we hadn't
bothered to be honest, Canberra was very poor in the terms of a Ca...

We left Kulgera at about 7am and about 15 minutes into our trip we
spotted our 3rd kangaroo in the whole 4350 kilometres we’ve travelled
so far (but who’s counting). Today we also passed our half way mark of
our trip which also sees the hard part almost done. Once we get to
Adelaide in two days time we actually get to relax a bit more on the
rest of the trip as we have more stays for longer and we’ll be back in
civilisation which has mobile phone reception and have heard of the
i...

Adelaide Hills is another great wine region of Australia, well known for the cooler climate wines such as Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Chardonnay, and Pinot Gris. I have worked in the wine industry for 16 years now, but never get tired of seeing the many colours of the vines and their surroundings, so I thought that I would share a few photos with you. :)

Day 1: Ventured north by tram to the city centre, Federation square (where the rugby, Aus against NZ was being advertised). whilst loving the view of the city scape across the Yarra River it was decided to stop by the ACMI (Australia Centre For The Moving Arts) where a pixar exhibition was - Amazing! you were able to discover the art and the artists of pixar and the studio behind such masterpieces as Toy Story, Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo and The Incredibles, displaying over 500 sket...

More photo's to follow
We got out of Kulgera at a reasonable time, as there wasn’t really much to see. The next destination was Coober Pedy, which is described as the Opal Capital of the World, and the surrounding area as a moonlike landscape. The trip there was pretty boring, although not as dry as we had expected. The whole country seems to have had a lot more rain than normal, so we don’t see things the way they usually are. In a way I feel a bit cheated, but it is good to see the rai...

I'm driving! all by myself, in Adelaide! on the wrong side of the road! and it's going very well. at lerast as long as i keep the air-con on full blast, and remember that they put the blinkers on the wrong side of the steering wheel in this country. And there's this little problem where i have no idea where to put my left foot when driving an automatic car... and i keep reaching for the gear shift with the wrong hand. but all those are just little hitches that i'm sure i'll get over somewhere...

A 4600 kilometer round trip (and I think I'm rounding down) by car, ten days to do it. Too easy!

I've had a great experience in a small town called Aldgate in a high-elevated area of Adelaide Hills, South Australia. Aldgate is located about 12 miles southeast of the South Australia's gorgeous capital, Adelaide. Adelaide Hills has several charming little towns: Stirling, Aldgate, and Bridgewater. The area is hilly, but naturally decorated with white gum trees, eucalyptus -- native to the area, and sounds of magpies. Aldgate has a row of local stores just by the main road. If my memory ser...
