Souplantation (buffet restaurant) Arcadia Reviews
Feb 14, 2008
We went to the Arcadia location of the Souplantation restaurant the other weekend. There was a line going out the door, but the wait was short, as this is a buffet restaurant, and people (lots of family with children) just line up at the 2 buffet counters and move along. You can get all you can eat salad and soup for under $8, and free tap water, or you can pay another $2 for unlimited soda/juice. This restaurant had an "A" rating from the health department, that means it got the best score possible during the previous inspection.
They had a lot of variety of salads, several chicken salads (try a bit of everything), pasta salads of many kinds. Basically you should try not to stuff yourself just because there is so much food. The restaurant had a sign which asks people to take only as much as they would eat. I think it's a good idea. No reason to waste food here, just go back for seconds or thirds if you are still hungry. At the end of the salad counter, you pay for your meal, and get an empty cup for either free or paid water/juice. Soup and bread can be found just before you enter the sitting area. Again, many variety of soups and breads. I tried the clam chowder soup, which was pretty good.
The drinks can be found near the tables. And they have waiters to bring you more drinks so you don't have to get up yourself. Overall, a good deal for the money, and much healthier with more different things to eat than your usual fast food restaurants.
p.s. being a family restaurant, they also are friendly to people in wheelchairs with easy access
