Although not necessarily expensive, this particular attraction was not worth the $ it cost. It seems that a lot of work was put into it, but it was rather boring, and I didn't learn anything new. Plus, the weird green squiggly lines supposedly representing mourners just plain creeped me out. Go see the pyramids and the Sphinx in the daytime, but this can be passed up. You didn't miss anything.

The one thing I really got out of it was the way they… Sands of Time

The five of us went to the Citadel of Saladin, a huge fortress in the Mokattam Hills. Somewhat modern for Egypt, the complex was built in 1183 A.D. The immense Turkish-style dome of the Mohammed Ali Mosque, built in the mid-19th Century, dom…Pyramids, they enlivened in a golden glow then colorful columns of light fanned skyward from behind the colossal monuments stabbing deep into the overhead night sky. The sound and light show was the most spectacular thing we had thus far seen on our entire trip… Sound and Light Show at the Pyramids

Luckily the train ride did only go for 9 hours.  Got to have a couple of hours at the hotel to shower and have a nap.  Then we went out to see the "Hanging Church" which is an old Christian church in cairo and has nothing to do with hang…evening we went to the Sound and Light Show at the pyramids, which was rubbish and mostly a waste of time.  Spent the next morning by the pool (deja vu) and then headed to the airport for my annoyingly delayed flight back to London … Back to Cairo
