Sound & Light Shows
Sound & Light Shows Reviews
Mar 23, 2007
The sound and light shows in Egypt are decently done... Don't go there expecting lazer lights and crazy things like that, basically you get a chance to see these historical temples, artifacts, and pyramids under night lights with a story of the Pharaohs and people of that time, wars, etc... There are light shows at 3 main locations in Egypt; The Pyramids at Giza, The Temples of Karnak and Luxor in Luxor, and the Temple of Isis at Philae in Aswan. You must look online at www.sound-light.egypt.com to find the right hours and language for your party, English is fairly common and will be easy to find a time and day for that, so if you speak English or understand it fairly well you wont have much of a problem.
The pricing of the shows varies, obviously the Pyramids are the most expensive going down to the temple of Philae... The prices are as follows:
Pyramids: 60/30 EGP (adult/child) no student discount
Luxor & Karnak: 55/44 EGP (adult/child) no student discount
*Isis at Philae: 55 EGP (everyone) no child/student discount
Videos 35 EGP (depending on place)
*Although there are no discounts to read of in a lot of places, you may find that you can bargain a deal for students or children. Honestly when we went, we showed our ISIC Student Identification cards without asking and they chopped the fee in half for us. Its worth a shot.
*The reason there is an asterisk on "Isis at Philae" is that although this is not the most expensive show, it is probably the most interesting... not a lazer light show or anything more special in that respect, but its well-done and historically interesting.
*Videos of the shows can be purchased for the above prices
