Sojourn Boutique Villas Siem Reap

I love this place. It's just a little way out of Siem Reap (couple kilometers), but it's an incredible place to stay. Huge cottages, both an indoor and outdoor garden shower, the bathtub is filled by a waterfall, cute pool and pool bar, and they fall over backwards to service you (20 minutes noticed for a 2 hour massage for $20). I know this is impoverished Asia, but I still appreciate staying at nice places and having the staff cry a tear of appreciation when you tip them what you would be punched in the face for leaving in London. Small surprises constantly. They left a bowl of flowers on my doorstep this morning. I'm glad they are so attentive to what is going on, because this place is literally off a dirt road in the middle of a rice patty. I'd be afraid to wander off and get lost without the staff. At about $150/night, this is about what I spend $700/night in Hawaii for less than the same. I can only complain that the restaurant closes at 9:30pm (along with room service) and they don't provide a microwave in the room. The microwave is a pet pieve of mine as I always feel like they don't provide them for the purpose of boosting restaurant sales (my leftover curry from last night remains in the fridge). As a last thought I'd like to add that I've been here for about 24 hours and everyone that works here already knows my name. My rate also included a 3 day package of various things I wouldn't get elsewhere, so you need to calculate that into your overall cost/benefit. Check out there website.
