Sofitel Hotel Cocagne Eindhoven

The Sofitel Cocagne, Formerly the Dorin Cocagne, Formerly the Cocagne hotel in Eindhoven Center.

This hotel was originally founded as a hotel for Philips employees in Eindhoven before joining the Dorint chain which then joined Accor and this hotel became a Sofitel.

Compared with some other Sofitel hotels, this one is a bit older and the original Cocagne wing is in need of some upgrading (which I understand is currently ongoing). Rooms ending in 16 or 17 are the king sized balcony rooms overlooking the Vestada Tower. Rooms ending in 32 are also king sized and have a balcony, but overlooks only the parking lot in the back. Rooms ending in 39 are king sized with no balcony. Rooms in the back wing of thee hotel are the executive rooms, these are more modern and updated. The upper floors in the back wing are apartments usually rented out to corporate clients.

The hotel offers an amazing breakfast buffet in the morning. The hotel restaurant is a bit expensive, but the food is excellent. You can also order food while at the bar, and the bar staff is top notch professional. Maria will often remember you after one visit, even with years in between!

The hotel offers a gym and swimming pool and sauna (European style). Parking is available for a fee. Note: If you are a guest and both parking lots show "Vol", pull up to the P1 lot and push the intercom, often they will show the lot as full but still have ample spaces available for guests. If it really is full, pull up in front of the hotel and let them park for you.

The hotel staff is always very friendly and helpful, one of the brightest spots of the hotel.

As for location, the hotel is right in the center of town, within walking distance of the train station, the market square, Stratumseind, and most of the dining and nightlife Eindhoven has to offer.

Let's start with the beds. You know those commercials where you dive with your back on a bed and you slowly drown in it. Well that's the bed you'll get. This ride will take 20 seconds, if you grave yourself out of it, take the next bed and do it again. The room are really tidy, with your own desk and chillseat. Check in the closet cause you have your own water boiler and tea/coffee/hot choc-bags. Breakfast with bacon and eggs, salmon, you name it, they got it. Service was great, they helped our filmcrew carry the enormous account of bags to our tech-room.

Only bad point was the playstation one, where you even had to pay for. Yes, they got Crah Bandicoot :D
