A touch of luxury in a Beautiful city Jul 13, 2008

Had two nights in the Luxurious Sofitel Brisbane. We were in a classic room for the stay which was simple and clean. The bed is comfy as... once u lay down, it takes a lot of effort to get up and go out again! The rooms are quite spacious but are not huge - def enough room to practice some dance moves beofre hitting the city night life!
The Bathroom is quite small, but im not too sure why you would require a huge bathroom anyway!
We had Dinner in the sofitels Thyme restuarant. A buffet will set you back $85 however you can def eat your monies worth! The buffet contains KING prawns, mussels, oysters, roasts, rice, stir fry, moreton bay bugs, salads, cheeses, breads, and the most amazing desert selection complete with a chocolate fondue fountain! We left feeling very very very full and satisfied! Oh and if Sushi is your thing - there is a sushi stand where u can order what u like and watch it been made right ther ein front of you. If a buffet isnt your thing, you can also chose from the A la carte menu.
Breakfast is held in the same venue and again has a buffet. The full buffet will set you back about $40 but gives you the choice of all you would want for breakky - everything from cereals to made to order omelettes.
One of the best things about the Sofitel is its location. It is situated right on top of Brisbane central station so is about a 2 min walk from Central to the sofitel reception. If you feel like spashing out a little on accom the sofitel is lovely without been too prentious! Or if its out of your budget for accom - maybe splurge on the buffet - def worth it!
