Inside the Mercado Central you will find tons of places to eat. If you care for a good, delicious, greasy snack then you must try the empanadas at Soda Puntarenas. This spot is filled with locals who can appreciate good taste. For 450 colones you can choose from a chicken or beef empanada. Definitely recommended to all those who feel courageous enough to eat inside the market.
