Fantastic Pan-Asian Cuisine in Shadyside Apr 10, 2008
If you want amazing Pan-Asian cuisine in beautiful surroundings, Soba is definitely your best choice in Pittsburgh. Spread across three floors, the design is elegant modern with an Asian flair and features a popular outdoor deck for summer dining. The menu changes near daily, with certain signature items always available. The food tends toward a fusion of Asian cuisines providing interesting takes on even more traditional meals like Pad Thai. One of the most exciting features of the restaurant is their frequent fusion festivals (recently Spanish-Asian and French-Asian) which typically last 1 week and feature hand-picked chef's tasting menus. The bar is a popular hangout for area hipsters and is usually standing room only on Friday and Saturday nights. The bar features traditional cocktails in addition to those designed specifically for Soba (try the ginger-infused vodka martini) and the other Big Burrito restaurants.

Recent menus can be found on the website, along with photos of the restaurant. Reservations can be made by phone or on and are necessary for Friday and Saturday evenings but probably not for weeknights.
