Smith Cabin Hot Springs
Smith Cabin Hot Springs Reviews
Smith Cabin Hot Springs Aug 24, 2008
These hot springs are a bit tricky to get to, you have to ford the river which is only possible in fall. We did it with no problem in August. The springs are very hot, too hot to touch. The pools are right on the rivers edge for the needed river water to cool the spring water. These springs are work to enjoy, constant stirring to get a good temperature. The pool is quite shallow too. But a nice break from driving and worth the stop.
If you head over to enjoy these great springs, please do your part to keep it cleaner than when you got there! Bring a trash bag just in case, thanks! Getting there: From Atlanta take the Middle Fork Road (268) about 34 miles downstream (.2 miles past Loftus). You’ll pass over a bridge and then it’s just .7 miles to the springs. Just park there on the road and look for the springs across the river. GPS Coordinates N 43.72000° W 115.61700° Part of the Hot Springs Adventure 2008: Atlanta Idaho Area travel blog |
