If you`r in art you have to visit Smelik Stokking in Nooreinde 101 and 150.
This gallery is represented in The Hague as well as in the capital of The Netherlands. The shop in Amsterdam is located in the Spiegelkwartier amidst many antiquity shops. Not only can you find works by a fixed group of Dutch artists in this gallery, but also a number of foreign painters and sculptors are exclusively represented. Names like Wim van Aken, Saad Ali and Rein Dool should be well-known among art critics. Apart from the temporary exhibitions, there is also a permanent collection of bronze sculptures. The KunstKoopregeling (art buying arrangement) allows you to pay for any work bought in this gallery over a period of months without having to pay extra interest. Here you also can see paintings of ex. Jan Tinholt and Frank Slabbinck. But most of all you can see sculptors of my favorite Peter Leyenaar, both inside the gallery and in the gallery garden. His bronse sculptors is uniqe in their simplicity. Lots of humor and charm. |

To day we will walk around in Den Haag and visit Mauritshuis. We all wanted to see Vermeers "Girl with Pearl Earring". Vermeer is one of my favorite Dutch painters.
The collection of the Mauritshuis is the property of the Dutch state. T…much to see, so much to experience. Den Haag is a fantastic city with its colourful culture, nice channels, good shopping places and nice friendly people.
Last experience of Den Haags culture was visiting Smelik Stokking. Ohhhhh........ I`l let the photos from the garden speak..... … Den Haag with Mauritshuis |
