SmashBurger Longview Reviews
Sizzling good burger Mar 07, 2010
Just when you thought no one could possibly find a way to sell another burger, along comes a place called– Smashburger, Smashburger is the newest restaurant here in Longview. Smashburger is a part of a fast growing chain of fast-casual “better burger” restaurants that opened in February. They have also opened a location in Tyler, TX. This is just one of the many new stores popping up around the country.
The restaurants sell 100-percent Certified Angus Beef burgers and a variety of sides and delicious shakes to locals. I say locals, because that have allowed certain items that are truly local on the menu. So, In addition to Smashburger’s traditional menu items, the Texas restaurants will feature customized regional items that were created with local flavors and tastes in mind. The Longview menu includes the Lone Star Smashburger, which has jalapenos and chili and served with a knife and fork. They have a variety of other burgers and a really great hotdog. I am not fond of chicken, but that’s on the menu as well.
Ordering your meal is easy, walk in stand in line and they take your order. A large menu board on the wall helps you make a decision and then your food is brought out to your table. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available.
The place is known for the cooking method used to create the perfect burger, Smashburgers start at $4.99 with a one-third or half-pound ball of 100-percent Certified Angus Beef—fresh, not frozen—smashed, seared and seasoned on a flat grill. To further the “better burger” experience, Smashburgers are served on a toasted artisan bun and topped with a selection of real cheeses, fresh produce, and top-quality condiments. They have a variety of sauces to try as well.
Smashburger is known for its savory burgers, but the restaurant also serves up delicious Smashchicken sandwiches, Smashdogs, and Smashsalads, with sides like veggie frites, sweet potato Smashfries and rosemary and garlic–seasoned Smashfries. The veggie frites are the best with a special seasoning blend that helps to bring the sweetness out in them. We ordered some of the ‘smashfries’ which was fries with rosemary and garlic. Some of the best fries ever. We went back and ordered more. The nice thing about their sides ism if you order anything you a dollar reduction on the price of the sides.
You will love that you can have a glass of wine or a beer with your meal, even though they have not yet received their liquor license here, it will be available soon. A Häagen-Dazs shake or a root-beer float will round off your dinner.
The staff was really cool, especially one of the managers Josh. Josh came out and talked to us at our table and gave us a really history about the company and the concept. I always like it when employees like their jobs and find pride in working there. If you do get a chance to stop in, ask for Josh and tell him Britt sent you.
