Not your average Hostel! Dec 29, 2011
I stayed here for one night - the set up is different as there are no dorms as such- its more like apartments with one bedroom for boys and one for girls and a kitchen/tv room in each 'apartment'. I liked it as was easy to chat to people in your room. Although the actual bedrooms are a bit cramped (there were 4 beds in each). The bonus was i got picked up from my bus stop in a limo and dropped off there in the limo the next day :-) it was 'all you can eat' pizza night while i was there which was cool... the pizza's just kept coming! I went on an pub crawl with the hostel which is also a good way to meet other backpackers. The hostel has a pool which is nice too. I arranged a surfing lesson with the receptionist and got picked up from outside the hostel for it so they offer good services like that.

Surfers paradise itself is tacky but for one night this was a good stop off :-)

This is a decent hostel, but quite anti-social on the whole. The dorms are four bed, each with a private kitchen and bathroom, but they definitely are not clean. There’s a TV in each room, which I found more annoying than anything else, but others may find it a plus point.

There is a very small pool for guests use, and a few available internet terminals near the reception. The common area isn’t really up to much as it’s just a few chairs slung together in quite a small area. The staff are helpful and friendly though, and will pick you up, and drop you off in the hostel owned limousine (not as luxurious as it sounds, but a nice touch anyway), and have a night sorted out for every night of the week with cheap drinks and promotions.

Location is fine, but I’d suggest staying at the more rowdy Back Packers In Paradise just next door if you really want to socialise, and let’s face it, you’re going to Surfers for a reason aren’t you?!

Always book accommodation in advance as an error like mine WILL prove to be costly!

So I have been staying at a hostel called the Sleeping Inn for a couple of days here in Surfer’s Paradise. This place is neither good for surfers, nor a paradise. The beach is nice, and large, …Sleeping Inn for a couple of days here in Surfer’s Paradise. This place is neither good for surfers
