Skopelos is situated in the Aegean sea & belongs to the Sporade group of Greek Islands along with Skiathos, Skyros and Alonissos. There is no airport here, so you have to fly to Skiathos and take a 40 minute boat ride to Skopelos. The island is quite small,only 17km by 8km but has many interesting sites to see,including over 300 churches!
The island has tourism (probably mainly from Britain) but it is by no means overrun with tourists. As there is no airport,the island remains unspoilt.
