I went to Kaprun in 2001 as part of a school skiing trip! I honestly had never skiied before I got here, not even on dry slope! I learnt pretty quickly how to stop after nearly knocking people over!

The local Kitsteinhorn glacier is a great place to learn to ski though with lots of baby slopes to practice on. This isn't one of the massive resorts like Tignes or Val D'Isere but it still has a lot to offer.

I really enjoyed learning to ski here. There weren't many black slopes so all the slopes were good to try out! The views from the top were also really amazing! There was an interesting cloud formation over Kitsteinhorn while I was there that made the mountain look like it was wearing a hat!

Kaprun village is also really nice with some shops and restaurants to go to. For more choice then it would be best to travel to the nearby town of Zell Am See.
