If you have any interest in very beautiful paintings from the late 1880s this is the place to see the originals...! There are paintings, drawings and sculptures from some of the most famous Danish and Norwegian (and Swedish, British and German) artists with connection to the town of Skagen. A number of these artists lived in Skagen over the summers and worked there - they have painted each other a lot - it is very nice, peaceful pictures. Especially well known painters are P.S. Krøyer and Michael & Anna Ancher. The Ancher home is also part of the museum

Skagen has been a fishing port for centuries, it is located at the top of Denmark. Once you see Skagen you will notice that most of the houses are painted yellow. We went to Denmark from Italy by car crossing Switzerland and Germany (Memminghen-Würzburg-Kassel-Hannover-Amburgo-Lubecca). From the city of Lubecca we got to the harbour of Puttgarden where we get the ferry to Rødbyhaven in Eastern Denmar (the f…museum by their daughter Helga.
