Six Flags Summer 2008 Jul 15, 2008
Get there! Already cookin' with crowds of folks. This attraction I recommend to the young, healthy, and spontaneous folks. Their prices are expected for any amusement park (average). The more you bring the better, I got the season pass after purchasing the regular price and then offered upgraded pass in the park. You make out on the coupons book, special offers, and no lines for the summer. Do count on some lines, crowds, and lots of rides to try again and again. Don't be discouraged because they offer the "Flash Pass" to get on rides faster but the catch is you have to schedule it with a computerized remote. Cool for crowded days I think. Don't buy that "Flash Pass" if it's an slow that day, won't have that problem during the summer, lol. Make sure you bring cash for the parking and food if needed. You'll have a blast but remember some rides don't allow purses, bags, or flip flops due to coming off during the ride.

Six Flags...Near Chicago Jul 12, 2008
Another Six Flags theme park! Like the others, this one has some common rollerocasters, like the Batman Ride. Great America's own coasters include the Raging Bull, Vertical Velocity, and Iron Wolf.
Iron Wolf has been around for nearly 20 years. It has a top speed of 55mph and might be as high as 100 feet. As rollercoasters go, this one is average. Raging Bull has been around half as long and boasts speeds in the 70s while topping out at over 200 feet at its highest point. This one is a bit more unusual, as it goes underground on the first drop. Very good coaster. Vertical Velocity is a different kind of coaster. It uses an electromagnetic propulsion system to launch you up 18 stories at 70 mph in 4 seconds in a spiraling corkscrew, and then back down. Above average for thrills. Six Flags Great America is pretty much on par with its sister parks. |
