A few days ago, Chris (TB Abubu) invited me to his birthday party just because some other Flipinos from TB are coming over to SG next week and he won't be here, so he insisted we had to meet up first since we're staying in the same country! hahaa. After running some errands on Saturday (yesterday), i cabbed down to Abu's friend's place and reached there at 10ish. i asked the security guard how i could get to 03-06 and he finished my question for me. Apparently, most of the visitors to the apa...

Before Chinese New Year (Feb 7 to 10), I received a job offer from Manila. I accepted the offer.  For the last long-weekend that I would be here, Instead of going to other countries which I did on the past two years (Thailand, Cambodia and China), I decided to stay in Singapore to meetup with friends and to explore places that I have not been to yet.  On board of Bus 65 I only passed by Little India for months and from my bus ride, I got curious with the Hindu Temples that lined Ser...

So, slept very late and woke up at past 7 in the morning. Had to shower real quick because Jorrit and I rented the room for 4 hours only, so we needed to check out by 8 and pick up Hanie at her hostel. We managed to check out on time (almost) but we weren't so lucky with trying to walk our way back to the Hanie's hostel from our own hotel. So we ended up taking a cab instead. We got to the Summer Tavern early enough. Hanie was still busy applying her make up and all the gir...

It is not surprising that Singapore skyscrapers occupy 50% of its land - since the city is known for having the best business environment in the region. In fact, the towering buildings were the first I noticed the first time I was there - imposing buildings in different stuctures. Singapore at night

The flight from Siem Reap to Singapore was very quick and smooth.  (departure tax- note that you have to pay a $25USD departure tax when you leave Cambodia - they do take credit cards, but the machine was broken when we were there, and they don't take Riel.) We grabbed a taxi who took the quickest route to V's place and we were able to pack all of our stuff into our bags - yeah!   We were afraid we'd be over the weight limit or have to buy new luggage.  We then had our las...

On board cebupacific flight 5J 804 bound for Manila, Philippines. How many times have I been on this flight now? I'm not sure, but what I'm sure of is that booking this Singapore-Manila flight has been like a regular every couple of months habit, hehe. But then, this is definitely not the same as my previous ones because this flight is THE flight. Finally, I am doing something that had been continuously begging for attention at the back of my mind. Finally, I am dropping everything and surre...

Immediately the morning after the Beijng Olympics opening ceremonies, Singapore turns 43 on August 9, the same Saturday Ben and I (and his eclectic entourage of friends and acquaintances from all over) began one whole weekend of bumming around on the beach.  The locals call the founding day celebration as NDP or National Day Parade, a funny misnomer since the parade is definitely not the highlight of the event! Or maybe for them it is! But I digress. For me and my friends this weeke...

These bazaars located in Geylang Serai. It is a yearly event for a month and you can feel the festive mood. All walks of life will come here to buy things that they need and also many food stall selling many kind of delicacies from eastern to western cuisine. I really enjoyed being here every year. This is the place I can meet my ex school mates and also friends that I seldom see in my every day life. Although we cannot chit-chat to catch up because there are so many people there but we can a...

(After reading my entry about the first day, I thought that I should start giving details in a nutshell or it would take me forever to finish this blog. hahaha.)Day 2I just chilled out, really. I started my day cycling around town with Ate Bebang after breakfast, pigging out on swedish and American food at lunch time, mall hopping until the time we would pick up the kids from school after 6pm. Pretty chilled out, eh? :P Day 3 Alone again. I think I stopped at almost every MRT station just to ...

I think I got Kim too drunk last night.  We ended up spending most of the day in the hotel room.  I read another book and watched a little television since she was under the weather.  At 3pm they had a wine tasting which was very informative and fun.  We tried two white wines, two red wines, and a desert wine.  All of them were great but I'm definatly a fan of white over red. Later we played Jeopardy on the ship.  There were only two teams there, Kim & I, ...

At 6:00 PM Singapore time, we arrived in Changi. I went first to the free internet area, I chatted with my manager in Manila who thought I went awol and he even pondered of reporting me to the HR, until they surfed the net to find out about the cyclone in Myanmar. By 7:00 PM, we were already eating in Popeyes Chicken. We were all silent, focused on the food in front of us. I finished 3 pieces chicken, fries and biscuits. The best meal ever!!! By 7:30 PM, we were queuing up in KLM for my f...
