I'm very poor at the moment (I may have gone overboard with my shoes.. most people go to s'pore for cheap arse shoes.. and I have to go and spend nearly $200 on a pair. I am so weak.. If I can describe Singapore with just one word it would be "spotless"! I mean no litter whatsoever. No graffiti, orderly transportation, friendliness of the people, great shopping deals. I can go on and on but Singapore is the place to be!
Nevermind the airport incident with the Singaporean police. They were extremely professional and never in no way made me feel uncomfortable. My only regret was not being able to visit Sentosa and doing the Night Safari!

Arrived into Singapore, after quite a short flight from Bangkok. We were met by Sam at the airport and it was really good to see him. Clive who we are staying with was training, so Sam was in charge.

Wednesday 19th April
This morning I bid farewell to Zab and John and arrived at Bangkok airport with acres of time to kill. I checked my bags in and then went to get the 500 Baht out of the ATM for airport tax (another delightful perk for tourism in Bangkok). I keyed in the usual info a the ATM an…

Singapore, destination number one on the final leg of our trip. Our first city, and our first country as it turns out. Call me ignorant, but I didn't realize that Singapore is a country all of its own, and not just a city in Malaysia as I had thought. Its a big city/country as it happens, w…

I noticed while boarding the flight from Xiamen to Singapore, a very sophisticated process being employed. As each barcoded boarding pass was being scanned at the entrance to the airbridge, a somewhat-hidden camera took a snapshot of the passenger and the picture flashes momentarily on the ne…
