One of the Best Zoo and Uniqe Night Safari !! Jul 12, 2013
As far as zoo goes, this one is undoubtedly the best one. The Animals are well kept and you can experience a wider angle of species. It is very well maintained and is very clean for a Zoo. The Splash Safari and the Elephant's at work shows is a must watch. Feeding giraffe, elephant is out of the world experience. clicking pictures with birds and shows they perform in the zoo is very good and motivating towards nature care.If you have kids with you they will love it.

You must check the show timings when you are planning your visit. Be sure to make a reservation for breakfast with the orangutans. The orangutans exhibit is remarkable. The elephant Show and the Splash (Seal show) was amazing.

Night Safari - It's absolutely fabulous.A great show, and a great experience up close with the animals at night. Also very good value for money.Attended an animal show which was really cool, but the real thrill was seeing the night creatures out and about. There is a 'train' which you can ride around the zoo(covers 90%) and a commentary about the animals you are looking at, but there are also 3 -4 walking trails which you can walk. Its an amazing experience to walk with people in the ZOO at Night.

The whole idea of the Night Safari is to give you an experience as if you are in a middle of a rain forest at night and watching the animals by moonlight.

Just before entering the Night Safari, few tribal guys performed some fire show which was amazing to see.

The River Safari - Its not 100 percent ready yet. They are expecting it to be over by end of this year (2013). We didn't have enough time to cover the river safari so didn't take the tour for 50 percent done part.

Give a full day for the Zoo and Safari. If you want to go in separate days, you can buy Zoo Hopper tickets which allows you to visit one in a day for 30 days and you get huge discount too. (You can do all 3 in a day even you buy the hopper tickets)

We did the Zoo and the Night Safari and the price was S$49, only zoo was around $25-S$30 (don't remember exactly). Its worth every penny.

Have Fun.

Night Safari & Singapore Zoo Apr 10, 2008
The Singapore Zoo is an absolute must see, while visiting Singapore. It ranks as one of the best zoos in the world and the management has done an excellent job in keeping its standards high while creating a world class attraction for visitors.

You can visit the zoo either during the evening for the night safari, a truly unique experience; or during the day. The zoo also has a combination ticket pass, which allows you entry during the safari and during the day.

This is definitely an expensive outing for a family. Besides the expensive tickets and entry, the zoo, just like attractions in the US and theme parks around the world, they get you everywhere you turn - pictures when you enter, pictures here, there and at every turn - of course they are clicked with your permission and you are under no obligation to buy them, but most of the time, suckers like me get talked into the expensive pictures as souvenirs.

The Night Safari is unusual in that there are some great cultural shows as well as the animal shows. The tram ride through the zoo is highly recommended - at least during the night safari.

If you plan to go and you are able to buy a package which includes the night safari and/or the zoo, I highly recommend getting it because most likely it will be less expensive than getting it at the zoo ticket office. Also, be forewarned that if you plan to catch a cab to get to the Night Safari and are leaving town around rush hour (5pm +/-) the tolls and the cab ride together may cost you around S$30

Amazing place , One of the best Zoo's in the world May 26, 2008
You can spend a whole day out here just walking around the zoo and then going for the night safari in the evening . Thats what we did and it was a really entertaining day. This is one place you'll never get bored at.The animals are well behaved and well maintained. Its really nice to see such a clean an well kept zoo. For the night safari make it a point to take the tram rides option while buying the tickets. For the zoo ..the trams aint so important ..but if ur going for the night safari ..the trams cover a major part of the trail which is not accessible by foot.

Singapore Zoo & Night Safari Nov 23, 2007
The Singapore Zoo is a great place for both children and adults. Among all the zoos in Southeast Asia, this is probably the best and is well-worth the visit.

I've been to both the zoo and the night safari twice, and twice it offered me the same wonderful experience. The first time was in 2005 with my cousins (on the night safari) while i went to the singapore zoo alone a few days after that. And the second time was in 2007 with my mom and her friends. The second time around was more tiring because we had to do both in just one day. Thank god for the many refreshment stands and restaurants at the zoo.

The Zoo has an "open zoo" concept where the animals are kept not in cages, but in beautifully landscaped enclosures separated from visitors by moats. In cases of dangerous or climbing animals, they are kept in glass-fronted enclosures.

As the Day time zoo closes at 630PM, the Night Safari opens next door. The Night Safari in itself is a must on your visit to Singapore. It is the world's only nocturnal zoo. There are several trails you can take to explore the part, and there's a "Creatures of the Night" show that one shouldn't miss.

There are souvenir shops at both attractions that offer a lot of merchandise from stuffed animals to t-shirts. It's always best to hit these shops at the end of your visit as you might be tempted to purchase a lot.

Some highlights of the zoo are Breakfast with an Orangutan program; Inuka, the first polar bear bred in the tropics; the white tigers; and the tram ride at the Night Safari.
