Singapore Cable Car
Singapore Cable Car Reviews
Mount Fabor to Sentosa by Cable Car Feb 21, 2012
The Mount Fabor Cable Car runs from Mount Fabor, through the Harbourside, to the pleasure island of Sentosa. Although there are other ways to get to Sentosa, this is by far the most fun.
The cable car runs high over Singapore harbour, and there is a great view of the city and the ships out in the harbour. On the way up to Mount Fabor, you can see the tops of a dense forest canopy on the lower slopes, and the harbour is impressive in its own way. There are also excellent views of the city. Mount Fabor is a little dull, unless you’re eating there, but there is lots to do on Sentosa. Sentosa is home to several theme parks, the giant Merlion, and even if you don’t want to spend any money you can stroll around the gardens admiring the wonderful, mad looking floral dinosaurs and tiled snakes. It is very high up, so it might not be the best idea to take anyone on with you who is scared of heights (my husband spent the whole journey speculating whether there was any way of surviving if the cable snapped. As far as I am aware, there has never been a single accident on this cable car, but I still occasionally wished I had left him at the bottom!).
Going on the cable car would be a great activity to do with children, as long as they weren’t scared of heights. I don’t think there would be any problem with access to the cable car if you had a pram or pushchair, as there are lifts up and down to it. Disabled access should be good too.
