Sinbad Bistro /Синбад Бистро

Sinbad Bistro serves fantastic Lebanese food at reasonable prices in a cozy and unpretentious environment. The restaurant is tiny and seats no more then thirty people.

The restaurant's seating area is divided using brightly colored cloth and screens hanging from wooden beams with fake greenery hanging from above. The separations give patrons a sense of privacy despite being packed in like sardines when the restaurant is full. The wait staff are amongst the friendliest in Moscow. Dressed in bright Lebanese garb they go out of their way to smile and are genuinely helpful as they bring out heaping portions in a prompt and polite manner.

As great and as the ambiance of Sinbad is, it is the reasonably priced quality food that separates Sinbad from their higher priced and larger competitors. Main courses at Sinbad tend to cost between $10 and $15 dollars, though grilled shashlick of sturgeon and other such delicacies cost more. Every dish I’ve tried has been fantastic, though the appetizer sampler platter is particularly good. The appetizer platter is also particularly large and can easily serve as a main course for two or as a large shared appetizer for four or even six. To help settle the stomach after a big meal try the Lebanese tea, filled with pine nuts and pomegranate seeds, or a glass of sweet Lebanese coffee. The menu is in both English and Russian and carryout is available.

Sinbad is a great choice for anyone looking for reasonably priced food in the center of Moscow or for anyone looking to enjoy a Moscow meal without all the hubabaloo that often surrounds Moscow eating establishments. I highly recommend Sinbad Bistro as their combination of great food, great prices and a cozy and friendly eating environment can’t be beat.
